Experimentation
I have spent some time this week experimenting with ideas that have come from my design developments. I have been keen to apply individual strips of fabric using CLO3d to achieve a flowing form, this is something I had previously experimented with in Module 701.
I have also experimented with new ways of achieving individual stringed looks without having to create each of the pieces, I have done this through the use of an Illustrator file and a displacement map and having to trialing print lays.

Hepworth Gallery
There was a fantastic textile exhibition at the Hepworth Gallery of the work of Sheila Hicks, the exhibition contained a wide range of her work and spread across multiple galleries. I was really interested in her linear stringed and textured work and love the way she uses colour and the sustainable ethic she has instilled in her work which began in the later 1970’s . Another artist to exhibit was Profulia Mohanti who’s watercolour and ink prints really caught my attention and had a liking to images I had selected for my mood boards. The work of Barbara Hepworth which is on permanent display always draws me in and I find great inspiration from her work.

Leeds Art Festival
I am part of a collaboration with other MA students at Leeds Art university to showcase a selection of animated work. I have created a showreel of the various works which will be shown at Kirgate Market from the 16th July and will run for a month.
Collaboration – MaisonDao – Fumigene – Immersive Kind
As part of a collaboration with MaisonDao I was asked to create a digital garment along with an animation to be showcased in the Immersive Kinds Spatial Gallery. Below is a video of what I have created. Creating this piece has allowed me to think more clearly about elements I need to consider for my catwalk animation, including styling of the avatars and the types of animations I require. I have spent some further time re-exploring Mixamo and also Daz3D for avatars and animations. I have run into lot of issues with Mixamo and so will be aiming to use Daz3D to create a selection of avatars and animations.
Starting to consider the look of the avatars
